We are a home based arts business based in beautiful northern Tasmania, just outside the small but very creative town of Deloraine. Jacque is an artist who specialises in sculpting, especially garden art figures. When not doing clay work, Jacque paints and quilts. John sells books and CDs, especially music by Tasmanian musicians, who, despite the fact that we have a recording studio in town, are too modest to make CDs. We can be found at the Deloraine market on the first Saturday of each month, starting in September. We are exploring other appropriate markets and venues. In the fullness of time we will be setting up workshops etc. so keep an eye on our blogspot for these and other ventures. Thank you for taking the time to look at this, and do contact us should you see anything you like, or if you should want any art materials.

John Boxer

I am a former RAF pilot, having spent 30 years flying and instructing in the military environment.

Al Reem compound Riyadh in a previous existence!

Since then I have become a specialist in flying instructor training, often setting up training organisations from scratch. This has included all training materials, from powerpoint briefings (not the boring old list variety, but very visual animated presentations) to student pilot manuals, and flying instructor guides. Organisations I have worked with have all been involved in the basic training for pilots who are going to move into the airlines and fly high performance aircraft. These organisations are Flight Training Adelaide, CTC (New Zealand) and the Western Australian Aviation College at Jandakot in Perth (WA).

I have also been heavily involved in Safety Management Systems in the aviation industry. It is amazing how so many people and organisations are scared of the concept of an SMS. They are really simple and cost very little, the main cost being time taken for data input, and training users how to be effective, and make the system effective.

Me now & Am7!

In the meantime, as well as looking after our business, I play the guitar and sometimes sing. I can hold a note but unfortunately don't have a lot of power in it. My preferred songs are the old jazz standards but I also enjoy joining Jacque with her flute for duets. Gardening is another "biggie" for me, a fact which would surprise most people who knew me before I met Jacque!

Well that's enough about me for now, but we'll review our bios at regular intervals.
